Let the Circle Be Unbroken

Set in rural Mississippi in 1935 during the Depression, it centers on the Logan family and how racial antagonisms and hard times affect that family and what the parents teach their children about pride and self-respect in order to survive. The Logan family owns their land, but a neighbor, Mr. Granger schemes to try to take it away from them. Members of the white community continually look for ways to cause them trouble. At one point, the young Logan family watches as their friend is charged with murder and tried by an all-white jury. Through each event, the family tries to make sure their circle stays unbroken.
