Make Lemonade

A paying job will be LaVaughn's ticket out of the housing projects, so she agrees to baby-sit the two children of unwed Jolly, 17, in an apartment so wretched "even the roaches are driven up the wall." But, Jolly is fired from her factory job. LaVaughn needed a part-time job, something she could do after school to earn money for college. Jolly needed a babysitter, someone she could trust with two kids while she looked for work. LaVaughn didn't feel right taking money from Jolly. It didn't matter that LaVaughn was fourteen. LaVaughn gives Jolly and her babies more love because if she doesn't no one else will.
