Once a Mouse

This Indian fable tells the tale about a hermit who catches a mouse about to be eaten by another animal. So, he magically changes the mouse to a cat to save him, then he changes him to a dog, then finally to a tiger and as the mouse changes, it becomes increasingly vain. In the end, the hermit had to change the tiger back into a mouse before it killed him and then returns the mouse to the woods to learn to appreciate the life you have. Calecott Medal Winner
