Pygmalion

$12.00
This is a play based upon the Greek myth of the sculptor Pygmalion who fell in love with his own statue of a woman, George Bernard Shaw's celebrated play about a phonetics professor, Henry Higgins who makes a bet with his colleague, Colonel Pickering that he can transform a cockney flower girl, Eliza Dolittle into a lady and train her in etiquette. Even though Henry Higgins successfully teaches Eliza to speak and act like a duchess, she adamantly refuses to be his creation. In the process, Higgins and Doolittle grow close, but she ultimately rejects his domineering ways and declares she will marry Freddy Eyansford-Hill – a young, poor, gentleman.
