Velveteen Rabbit, The

A boy receives a Velveteen Rabbit for Christmas. One day the Skin Horse explains that a toy becomes real if its owner really and truly loves it. When the boy's china dog is misplaced, the Velveteen Rabbit becomes his favorite toy. One day the boy falls ill is sent to the seaside on doctor's orders. The doctor forbids him to take any of his diseased toys and orders them all burned to disinfect the house. While awaiting the bonfire, the Rabbit cries a real tear which brings forth the Nursery Magic Fairy. She flies him to the woods, where he realizes that he is a real rabbit.
